Ash Bar Co. was born from a simple belief: the small rituals we return to every day matter.

What started as making soap for family and friends quickly became something more. I fell in love with the process—the creativity, the craftsmanship, and the quiet satisfaction of creating something by hand that people genuinely enjoyed using. Seeing others connect with those creations inspired me to share them beyond my own home.

At Ash Bar Co., I create thoughtfully crafted soaps designed to bring warmth, comfort, and intention to everyday self-care. Inspired by earthy elements, cozy moments, and slow living, each bar is made to feel grounding—like a weighted blanket for your daily routine.

I believe self-care doesn't have to be complicated. It can be as simple as taking a few moments for yourself, breathing deeply, a rich cup of coffee enjoyed slowly and turning an ordinary routine into a meaningful ritual.

Sustainability is also at the heart of what I do. I value mindful choices, minimal waste, and creating products that are gentle on both your skin and the world around us. My goal is to offer simple, thoughtfully made soaps using quality ingredients that feel good to use and align with a more intentional way of living.

How do I care for my soap?

How should I store my soap between uses?

Keep your bar in a well-draining soap dish or soap saver that allows water to drain away from the bar. Avoid letting your soap sit in standing water, as this can cause it to soften and dissolve more quickly.

Can I leave my soap in the shower?

Yes! Just keep it somewhere that isn't directly under the shower stream. Allowing the bar to dry between uses will help it last longer.

What type of soap dish is best?

Look for a soap dish with drainage holes, slats, or raised grooves that keep the bar elevated and allow air to circulate underneath. A dish that holds water underneath the soap isn't ideal.

Should I use a soap saver?

A soap saver, draining tray, or raised soap rack is a great option. These help keep your bar from sitting in moisture and can extend its life.

How can I make my bar last longer?

Let the bar dry between uses, avoid leaving it in standing water, and keep it out of the direct stream of the shower. You can also place smaller pieces of soap on a draining soap dish rather than using the entire bar at once.

Why does my soap seem to get softer?

Melt-and-pour soap naturally contains ingredients that attract moisture, so it can become soft when exposed to water or humidity for extended periods. Proper drainage and allowing your bar to dry between uses can make a big difference.

Can I use a washcloth or loofah with my soap?

Absolutely! Lather your soap with your hands, washcloth, or favorite bath accessory, then return the bar to its draining dish.

What if my soap gets wet and mushy?

Don't worry! Move it to a dry, well-ventilated area and allow it to fully dry before using it again. A draining soap dish can help prevent this from happening in the first place.
How are your soaps packaged?

Sustainability matters to Ash Bar Co., and I’m always looking for ways to reduce waste and make more environmentally conscious choices in how I package my products. Whenever possible, I use recycled, recyclable, or repurposed packaging materials.

You may notice, however, that my soap bars are shrink-wrapped. There’s a reason for that!

Ash Bar Co. soaps are made using melt-and-pour soap bases, which contain glycerin. Glycerin naturally attracts moisture from the air, and without protective packaging, the bars can develop a layer of moisture on the surface known as “glycerin dew.” While this doesn’t affect the quality or safety of the soap, it can leave the bar sticky, damp, or less visually appealing—and can cause it to lose moisture over time.

Shrink-wrapping creates a protective barrier that helps keep each bar dry, fresh, and beautiful from the time it leaves my studio until it reaches your hands.

I know plastic packaging isn't the perfect solution, and it's something I take seriously. Rather than using unnecessary plastic throughout my packaging, I keep it to what is needed to properly protect the soap and make thoughtful choices everywhere else.

Where I can choose recycled, recyclable, reusable, or lower-waste options, I do. And as better sustainable packaging solutions become available for handmade soap, I'll continue looking for ways to improve.
Are your soaps handmade?

Yes! Every Ash Bar Co. soap is handmade in small batches.

I use high-quality melt-and-pour soap bases, which I melt, customize, color, scent, layer, pour, and finish by hand. Melt-and-pour simply means the soap base has already gone through the saponification process, so there’s no need to handle lye during the crafting process.

I choose melt-and-pour for my small business because it allows me to focus on creating unique designs, beautiful ingredients, and thoughtfully crafted bars—while still giving you a wonderful handmade soap experience.

Handmade doesn’t have to mean making every ingredient from scratch. It means taking something and turning it into something uniquely yours.
